PM Modi and President Putin Set for Key Talks on Day 2 of India–Russia Summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin begins the second day of his visit to India with a scheduled meeting alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit. Putin arrived in New Delhi on Thursday, marking his first trip to India since the start of the Russia–Ukraine conflict.

In a departure from standard protocol, Prime Minister Modi personally welcomed Putin at the Palam Technical Airport. The two leaders shared a car ride to the Prime Minister’s residence, underscoring the warm personal rapport between them. Their discussions during the visit are expected to focus on strengthening strategic cooperation, expanding energy and defence partnerships, and reviewing ongoing bilateral projects.

The summit aims to reaffirm the long-standing partnership between India and Russia, with both sides expected to explore new avenues of collaboration amid shifting global geopolitical dynamics.
