Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính Holds Talks with President Putin in China

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tianjin on Monday during his visit to China for the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed greetings from Vietnamese leaders and expressed appreciation for Russia’s participation in Việt Nam’s 80th anniversary celebrations, including sending a delegation and a military contingent. He emphasized Việt Nam’s commitment to its traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, highlighting Russia as a top-priority partner.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with recent growth in bilateral ties, particularly following high-level visits earlier this year. PM Chính underlined progress in key areas of cooperation, including economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. President Putin endorsed Việt Nam’s proposals and committed to encouraging Russian agencies and businesses to further strengthen partnership with Việt Nam.

Following the meeting, PM Chính returned to Hà Nội, concluding his trip.
