Putin Backs China’s Global Governance Initiative, Calls It Key to Eurasian Security Vision

Date:

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed strong support for China’s Global Governance Initiative, saying it aligns closely with Russia’s own vision for a stable and secure Eurasian region.

Speaking at the Valdai International Discussion Club, Putin emphasized that the convergence of the two frameworks represents a significant step forward in strengthening Russia-China strategic relations. He highlighted the importance of cooperation across economic, cultural, and educational sectors to reinforce mutual development and stability.

Putin also announced that Russia will soon introduce a reciprocal visa-free policy for Chinese citizens, mirroring China’s pilot program for Russians. The move aims to boost tourism, trade, and people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Reaffirming his long-term goal, Putin reiterated Russia’s commitment to building an inclusive Eurasian security architecture in collaboration with regional organizations such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Union. He said this framework would ensure equal and indivisible security across the continent.
