Saudi Arabia and Russia have signed a landmark agreement allowing citizens of both countries to enter each other’s territories without a visa for tourism, business, or family visits. The new policy permits stays of up to 90 days within a calendar year, either consecutively or cumulatively.
The agreement was formalized during the Saudi–Russian Investment and Business Forum in Riyadh, with senior officials from both nations present. Leaders described the move as a major step toward strengthening people-to-people engagement and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
While the waiver eases entry for short-term visits, it does not apply to travel for work, study, residency, or Hajj, which will continue to require dedicated visas. Russia is the first country with which Saudi Arabia has established such a broad mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports.
Officials and business leaders expect the agreement to boost tourism and deepen economic, cultural, and strategic ties between the two nations.
