Ukraine Escalates Attacks Ahead of Putin-Trump Summit

Date:

According to Russian diplomat Rodion Miroshnik, Ukraine has nearly doubled its attacks on Russian regions over the past week. This escalation reportedly coincides with the announcement of an upcoming summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Miroshnik stated that the number of civilian localities targeted by Ukrainian forces grew from around 50 to nearly 130 after news of the planned talks became public. The majority of these attacks were reported in the Belgorod, Kursk, and Kherson regions. In the last week, these strikes have resulted in 22 fatalities and 105 injuries, including six children. The Putin-Trump summit, scheduled for August 15 in Alaska, is expected to focus on finding a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict.
