Simu Liu and Jeremy Lin Headline Toronto’s Asian Roots Festival at ARC World

Date:

This Saturday, Toronto will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavors of Asia at ARC World, a festival organized by the Asian Roots Collective. Held at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Kerr Hall, the event is designed to immerse attendees in a diverse array of cultural experiences, ranging from traditional cuisine to modern art.

The festival’s centerpiece is a celebrity basketball game featuring Simu Liu, star of Marvel’s “Shang-Chi,” and NBA champion Jeremy Lin. Their participation is set to draw crowds and add a competitive edge to the day’s festivities.

Beyond sports, ARC World offers a rich program of art, music, and storytelling. Attendees will have the chance to sample delicious Asian dishes, view contemporary art installations, and listen to speakers share powerful stories of perseverance and achievement.

Organizer Clement Chu hopes the festival will inspire young people to get involved in their communities. The Asian Roots Collective, formerly a youth basketball club, now operates a community center in Markham, providing a wide range of programs that reflect the evolving needs of Asian Canadians.
