Offshore Assets Under Fire: Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Platforms in Caspian Sea Operation

Date:

Russian offshore assets are under fire as Ukraine strikes Russian oil platforms in the Caspian Sea. The V. Filanovsky, Yuri Korchagin, and Valery Grayfe platforms were hit, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These Lukoil-owned facilities are critical for Russia’s oil exports. The strike aims to weaken Russia’s economic capacity to fund the war effort.

The platforms have been targeted repeatedly since December. Direct hits were confirmed, and damage assessment is underway. Lukoil has not issued a statement. This attack expands the energy war to the Caspian Sea, targeting the source of Russia’s petrodollars.

In Luhansk, a Buk-M3 air defense system was destroyed by Ukrainian forces. This strike weakens Russian defenses in the occupied region. A warehouse in Kherson was also targeted, disrupting logistics. These military strikes occur alongside the economic warfare campaign.

Russia continues to target Ukrainian energy infrastructure, causing blackouts. Ukraine responds by hitting Russian refineries and platforms. This reciprocal destruction characterizes the current phase of the war.

A drone attack on Voronezh killed one person and injured four. 17 drones were reportedly neutralized. This strike on Russian soil demonstrates Ukraine’s ability to disrupt life in Russian cities and target rear areas.
