South Korean President Lee Jae Myung held discussions with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi, on Friday to explore continued collaboration between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates. The meeting took place at Cheong Wa Dae in Seoul.
During the talks, President Lee emphasized the strategic partnership established during his state visit to the UAE last November, which aims to solidify long-term cooperation between the two nations. He expressed gratitude for the UAE’s prioritization of crude oil supplies to South Korea in March and highlighted an expansion in joint efforts across sectors like defense, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and culture.
Lee called for enhanced communication between South Korean and UAE officials to translate their cooperative intentions into tangible projects and foster stronger coordination based on mutual trust. The South Korean president’s remarks underscore a commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
Al Mubarak conveyed greetings from UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and praised South Korea as a significant partner for the UAE. He noted that bilateral cooperation has broadened from energy and infrastructure to encompass investment, space exploration, healthcare, and education.
The meeting comes as both countries anticipate further high-level discussions, including the potential for a summit in South Korea next month, underscoring the growing significance of their bilateral relationship.
