In a significant development, Russia and Ukraine have successfully conducted another prisoner exchange, releasing a total of 320 captives. This exchange was facilitated by the mediation efforts of the United Arab Emirates, which played a crucial role in reaching the agreement. Both countries released 160 prisoners each, marking a continuation of negotiations aimed at resolving humanitarian issues amidst the ongoing conflict.

The UAE has been instrumental in these talks, and this latest swap brings the total number of prisoners exchanged through its mediation efforts to nearly 7,800. The UAE expressed appreciation for the cooperation shown by both Russia and Ukraine, emphasizing its commitment to being a trusted international mediator in the ongoing conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged the release of Ukrainian soldiers, who had been held captive since 2022. He expressed gratitude to the teams involved in securing their freedom and reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to continuing efforts to bring back the remaining military personnel and civilians still in captivity.

This prisoner exchange occurs against the backdrop of continued hostilities between Russia and Ukraine. Although fighting persists, diplomatic initiatives remain focused on addressing humanitarian concerns and exploring potential avenues for reducing tensions between the two nations.
