Putin Advocates Multipolar World Order, Urges Compromise in Ukraine Conflict

Date:

Russian President Vladimir Putin has advocated for a stable multipolar world order, linking the current global security crisis to bloc confrontation and unilateral security pursuits by some nations. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club’s 23rd annual meeting, Putin emphasized the need for compromise and negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, rather than seeking the defeat of either side. He expressed Russia’s desire for Ukraine to maintain a neutral stance post-conflict.

According to Putin, the era of a unipolar international system is transitioning towards a multipolar order, necessitating increased cooperation based on mutual interests. He stated that Russia is prepared to collaborate with other countries to establish a framework for a more stable international system.

In a separate development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the first combat use of Ukraine’s domestically developed FP-7 tactical ballistic missile. Zelenskyy withheld details regarding the missile’s target or location of use but indicated that Ukraine is moving toward further production of the missile.
